Victoria Market – Colours of Earth Pizza

The Victoria Markets is one of oldest markets in Australia I reckon it’s one of those must-go tourist destinations in Melbourne. It is always filled with vibrant colours from all the fresh food stores, yet it still maintains it’s classical charms from the historical buildings. The markets are known for their fresh produce, fruit and vegetables, meat, seafood and delicatessen products.

I have visited this market twice now – and I have not noticed any changes since my last visit. The highlight of my second visit, which I would love to share everyone, is a little colour pizza at Colour of Earth.  I was amazed with their creativity of combining natural food colours to create one of the most attractive pizzas I have even seen.

There are more than 10 difference pizza flavours to choose from at the counter that could be ordered on the spot or take-away to cook at home.  There are gluten free choices available, with bases made of pumpkin, seaweed, rice, beetroot etc.

It was difficult for us to pick which one we liked to try after seeing all the amazing pizzas on display. In the end, we settled for the Beef ‘n’ Meat with the Beetroot base ($6.8). It took less than 10 minutes to cook in the oven.  The colour kind of fades when the pizza is cooked but it tasted awesome and we felt we could have had a second serve of it.

The vibrant colours of all the different kinds of food on display is without doubt one of the most attractive qualities of the Victoria Markets and I highly recommend follow foodies to go and visit – if you haven’t already. You will love it.
