This place may just look like one of those local take-away shops that you would normally drive past everyday but never bothered to visit. This is a very small place – it only has 4 tables with less than 15 seats but to my surprise, the food is consistently good with great presentation. It reminds me the one of best rule in cooking – the simplest is best with fresh ingredients.
The lunch menu special was $7.90. You only need to choose the flavour and type of meat (chicken, beef or pork). The meals would be ready in less than 10 minutes, take away meals ready to go in 5 minutes. The best part of this lunch special is that it even comes with 2 spring rolls.
We love to share our meals around.
Chicken with basil and chilli with Rice.
Who would’ve thought a simply chicken stir fry with vegetables and a few basil leaves, dash of chilli and fish sauce can already fill this dish with so much flavour. The beautiful fragrance of basil blends superbly with the chicken and fish sauce, making this classical Thai dish one that you cannot walk past.
Penang curry (chicken) with Rice
Sauce base made from dried curry cooked in coconut milk. It is milder and sweeter than other Thai curries that I’ve had before, and would probably be a good choice for someone that can’t handle spicy dishes.
Thai fried rice
Unlike Chinese fried rice, the dish has diced tomato and ganished with coriander and topped with lime juice. It tastes very fresh and can definitely whet your appetite on a hot summer day.
Overall, the best part of this restaurant is it’s value for money (all the mains were under $15.00). Their meals taste very authentic and they are cooked with quality fresh indigents. Just these two reasons are good enough for me to keep going back.
