High Tea @ LeBonChoix Bakery, Ascot

It was one of those quiet, relaxing Sunday afternoons. With nothing much to do, we decided to visit a café that a friend recommended out in Ascot called Le Bon Choix. As the name suggests, the café is a French patisserie, specialising in delicate, hand-crafted sweet and savoury delights.

When we arrived, we were captivated by the pristine décor used at this café. Everything seemed very modern and elegant, but our attention was quickly diverted to the cake display. The little pieces seemed so beautiful that we couldn’t help but order almost all of them.

Champagne D’Ete

L’Esperance

My personal all time favourites would have to be the Champagne D’ete and the L’esperance. When looking at the Champagne D’ete, you can see the amount of work and skill involved in making this dessert. Each layer’s thickness is precisely measured, and the creame on top is evenly and skillfully torched. The L’Esperance is a very interesting item dessert. On the outside it looks like a green tea cake, but it couldn’t be anymore different. The inside is a kind of passionfruit cream with tiny crunchy chocolate pieces throughout, which mimic the sensation of eating a passionfruit.

Tarte Aux Fraises – Strawberry Tart

Lucie – Strawberry mousse

Le Bon Choix is without doubt one of best, if not the best patisserie in Brisbane in my opinion. Their attention to detail, quality of food and presentation is absolutely outstanding. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone with a sweet tooth.
