Another typical sunny day in Queensland, my taste buds were ready for pleasure of fresh treat. As I driven pass the Grey Street last week, at Southbank; I realised there is a modern Japanese restaurant newly open – San Kai, why not Sushi for dinner tonight.
When we arrived at the place (great open door dinning), three of us were able to have first scanned through the restaurant. We already feel atmosphere was very relaxing and an excellent choice to cool down for a busy Saturday. Always, first time visit, we would have a good read from the menu, so we can get an idea and decide what we are going to have tonight. In addition, the price too, we do not want to the break the bank.
After a few discussions regarding the menu, we were ready to be sitting. Like the traditional Japanese restaurant, we were greeted with smiling faces and “irashaimas” from all staffs. We decided to dine at the outdoor area and closed to the street side, so we can feel the night braze and fresh air.
The services were efficient (after 15 mins wait); we all been served with our mains. Great portion (in compared with price, consider we are on a budget now) and loved the presentation with brilliant colour harmonization. We were so eager to get into the dish as soon as we can.
Chirashi Sushi – as truly described on the menu – Assorted Fresh sashimi on bed of sushi rice service a bowl.
My friend was going on his ride the next day (Brisbane to Gold Coast 100K, hardcore!); he did not want anything to upset his stomach and he went on the safe way. He ordered the Chicken Curry and Teriyaki Chicken Avocado Maki.
Sushi Moriawase – 10 pierces mix sushi platter of selected of Seafood and rolls.
The Sushi on my Moraware, they all taste fantastic. The sweetness of fish and rice were perfectly balance. Piece by piece felt like can just melt into my mouth.
If you are an authentic sushi fan, San Kai is worth a try with a reasonable price.San Kai Modern Japanese Restaurant, Shop 1, 164 Grey St, South Bank, Australia.
